DA PACHECO TO RECEIVE LEADERSHIP AWARD FROM
NATIONAL LATINO PEACE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION
RIVERSIDE, CA - Riverside County District Attorney Rod Pacheco will be honored with
the National Latino Peace Officers Association's (NLPOA) "Leadership Award" on
Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the San Bernardino Hilton.
"I am truly humbled to be recognized by the men and women of the National Latino
Peace Officers Association," said District Attorney Rod Pacheco. "Achieving justice
requires collaboration and team work by many committed law enforcement personnel in
our communities. I am proud to work with such a dedicated group of people to keep
our region safe."
The National Latino Peace Officers Association (San Bernardino-Riverside County
Chapter) will honor Pacheco with the award during their scholarship award dinner.
Pacheco will also serve as the keynote speaker at the event.
"District Attorney Rod Pacheco has provided exemplary service to the community and
especially to victims of crime during his tenure in office," said William Garcia, NLPOA
Governmental Affairs Representative and Board Member.
The NLPOA was founded in 1972, by Vicente Calderon and John Parraz. The specific
purposes of the organization are to eliminate prejudice and discrimination in the
criminal justice system; particularly law enforcement, reduce community juvenile
delinquency and lessen citizen tension in predominantly Latino communities.
The ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the San Bernardino
Hilton at 285 E. Hospitality Lane. The program will begin at 7:00 p.m. immediately
following a reception at 6:00 p.m.
