SHERIFF STANLEY SNIFF JOIN FOR "WALK A MILE" EVENTS AND RELAY FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH
RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, October 17, 2007: District Attorney Rod Pacheco along with Sheriff Stanley Sniff, law enforcement, and other officials will join together for a three day event and relay run throughout Riverside County. The events will cap off a month long campaign to bring awareness to domestic violence during Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October.
"We're proud to be a partner with Sheriff Stanley Sniff, law enforcement, and officials throughout Riverside County to join together to heighten the awareness and support the campaign against domestic violence," said District Attorney Rod Pacheco.

According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, 2006 report, 389,000 women and 78,180 men nationwide were victims of an intimate partner. Of the female victims, 33.4 percent were killed by their husbands or boyfriends and 2.4 percent of male murder victims were killed by their wives or girlfriends.
